Bowl of Cherries
There is something so appealing about this photo, isn’t there? The pretty pink flowers and coordinating bowl, overflowing with luscious looking cherries.
Most of the time I’m pretty lucky if I can even get the cherries out of the plastic bag they come in. I’m usually rushing somewhere – for the kids or for work – so taking the time to set a beautiful table like the one above seems like too much work. Can you imagine sitting at that little table? I think the right setting adds something to any experience.
My writing buddies and I are heading for a week-long trip to do nothing but work on the business of writing. We have a great time together – we eat and laugh and brainstorm. Oh. And we write. I could spend a week with those two anywhere, but our beautiful little hideaway overlooking a quiet lake only adds to the experience of serenity and focus. We’ll be doing a lot of Hale Street planning, so stay tuned to my website and other social media hotspots to find out what’s coming in the Hale Street series this year!
I hope you have some time this summer to find a beautiful setting and do a little battery recharging yourself. At the very least, give yourself a gift and eat your cherries out of a pretty bowl.
